Alpha
Goldback Alpha Series notes represent the first production run for a new state's Goldback currency. They are distinguished by the Greek alpha symbol to the left of the date mark. These notes are considered highly collectible because of their limited production numbers and their significance in marking the launch of Goldbacks in that state. For instance, the Wyoming & South Dakota Alpha Series produced only 1280 and 1200, repectfully, full sets. Even though Florida has an Alpha series, these are not as scarce as the number of mintage is considerably higher. Utah, Nevada and New Hampshire did not have an Alpha series. Currently, only Wyoming, South Dakota and Florida had Alpha series.
