The Spirit of Community
2026 Idaho "Alpha" 2 Goldback
A Tribute to Idaho's Basque Heritage
Idaho is home to one of the largest Basque communities in the United States, a culture defined by hard work, loyalty, and deep roots. The 2026 Idaho 2 Goldback honors this legacy through the virtue of Civitas (Community).
As an Alpha Series (First Edition) release, these notes represent the very first batch printed, making them a prime target for collectors.
The Art of Civitas (Community)
The Scene: The artwork is set on the famous "Basque Block" in downtown Boise. It captures the energy of the Uztai Txiki (Arco Dantza), a traditional hoop dance from the Gipuzkoa province.
Key Details to Look For:
- The Dancer: Performing with impeccable timing, she strikes small wooden hoops decorated with ribbons, symbolizing shared purpose and coordination.
- The Foundation: Beneath her feet lies the Lauburu (Basque Cross), a symbol of identity preserved within the Gem State.
- The Legacy of Labor: In the background, two sheep graze near the foothills—a quiet nod to the Basque immigrants who arrived in the 1800s to work as sheepherders on Idaho's open ranges.
- Civic Pride: The Idaho State Capitol and the Basque Museum rise in the distance, connecting the past to the present.
(What is done together is done easily.)
Hidden Security: The Glowing Motto
This note features the new 2026 Front-Facing UV Technology. Under a blacklight (as seen in the second image), the dancer's ribbons and the floor patterns ignite in neon blue.
Look closely at the UV image: The glowing text reveals the phrase "Zazpiak Bat" (The Seven are One), the historic motto of unity for the seven Basque provinces. This hidden detail makes the note virtually impossible to counterfeit.
