The Day Idaho Lit the World: 2026 Idaho "Alpha" 25 Goldback
Atomic History in Gold
A Scientific Breakthrough... Illuminated
On December 20, 1951, in the quiet desert near Arco, Idaho, history changed forever. The EBR-I reactor became the first power plant in the world to generate electricity using nuclear energy. To prove it worked, they lit a string of four light bulbs.
This note doesn't just tell the story; it reenacts it. The UV-reactive ink on this note is designed to make the light bulbs in the artwork physically glow when exposed to a blacklight as shown in the second image. You are holding the moment the Atomic Age began.
The Art of Scientia (Knowledge)
The Idaho 25 Goldback celebrates the virtue of Scientia—the willingness to tackle hard problems. The artwork places you inside the control room of that historic reactor.
- The Scientist: A female engineer stands at the controls, representing the vital contributions of women in research at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL).
- The Equations: Behind her, the chalkboard displays the math that made it possible: Einstein's E = mc² and the precise uranium fission reaction equation (²³⁵U + ¹n → ¹⁴¹Ba + ⁹²Kr + 3¹n + energy).
- The First Nuclear City: The artwork references Arco, Idaho, which in 1955 became the first city in the world entirely powered by atomic energy.

Why Invest in the Alpha Series?
This presale offers the Alpha Series designation—the first print run of the Idaho 25 note.
Between the historical significance of the Atomic theme and the breakthrough UV technology on the front of the note, this is expected to be one of the most sought-after denominations in Goldback history.
